The D-Day Festival Normandy is the region's own umbrella programme for the anniversary, running from the last days of May into the middle of June. It gathers close to a hundred separate events under one banner, from parachute drops over the drop zones to military vehicle parades, bagpipe concerts, open-air balls and fireworks.
Events run the length of the invasion coast and inland, from Sainte-Mere-Eglise and Carentan in the west, through Arromanches and Bayeux, to Pegasus Bridge in the east.
The full programme is published by Normandy Tourism in the spring. Dates shift by a few days from year to year, so treat any date shown here before the programme appears as an estimate.
