Held every year
The Liberty March is the marquee event of Carentan's commemorations, and one of the largest gatherings of re-enactors anywhere in Normandy. Several hundred marchers in period uniform walk the route into the town centre, watched by crowds along the whole length.
It sits inside Carentan's wider four-day programme, which also takes in camps, concerts and a re-enactment of the civilian exodus of June 1944.
The march moves within the first week of June from year to year, so the date shown here is an estimate until the town publishes its programme.
